    Day Trip to Colmar

Colmar has been in our list of places to visit for a long time. The short distance from Zurich is very attractive (Colmar is only 150 KM from Zurich) and we can easily go for a day trip anytime. This was actually our second attempt to visit the city. Unfortunately, the first time we tried to visit, we had an accident on the motorway only 30 KM away from reaching Colmar and we were forced to return home. Luckily, nobody got hurt but we had to postpone our visit for few more months. Almost a year later, we finally managed to reach our destination. We were greeted with a beautiful…

Day Trip To Freiburg Im Breisau

We moved to Zurich in 2016 and since then we had been planning to visit Freiburg. I had a particular interest in visiting the city because while we were still living in London, Jozef received an offer to work in Freiburg and as I was not prepared to leave London at that time, we decided not to take the offer. I always kept a bit of doubt in my mind asking myself if we had made the right decision but, shortly after that, we received another offer to work and live in Zurich. As it looked like the universe wanted to give us a push, we decided to take the…

    Day Trip to Oliva

At the beginning of the month, we spent wonderful days in Valencia in Spain (I already did a post about Valencia, to see click here), we also took 2 days to travel around and visit some cities in the region. One of these cities was the charming Oliva. Oliva is a small town with a population of 27,374 inhabitants. The town has a charming historic center with restaurants and bars but the main attraction of Oliva is its 7 km of blue flag beaches with soft sand bathed by the Mediterranean. Oliva has long been a very popular holiday option among the Spaniards and the town has gained more and…

    Day Trip to Cuenca

The last Christmas we spent in Spain, me and Jozef rented a car to travel through the countryside. We started in Madrid and finished our trip in Malaga. We drove through wonderful and unforgettable places and one of them was the city of Cuenca in the region of Castilla-La Mancha. Cuenca has some of the most impressive landscapes I have ever seen, which makes this city one of the most memorable cities in Spain. The old center of Cuenca is a world heritage site and the intriguing Casas Colgadas, which were built in the 14th century, are undoubtedly the best attraction of the city. The main attraction in the city…
